The Dirtiest Player No Longer in the Game

I’m watching Wrestlemania. I’m a fan of wrestling from way back.
I just saw Shawn Michaels end the career of Rick Flair.
There’s an old addage in the wrestling business that says you can’t go out on top. Tonight Ric Flair went out like a man in one of the most emotional finishes I’ve ever seen in my twenty plus years as a wrestling fan.
I’m at a loss for words, and there is a part of me that knows like death in comic books, retirement in wrestling is never really a certainty. However, for now, my eyes are a bit watery. My throat has a lump in it, and I stand, alone in my living room, out of respect for the man.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

The 80’s were the pubescent time of my life. The was allot to keep me entertained in my life but nothing stands out as much as me having to be home Saturday evening from 4pm till Midnight and that was because of wrestling. It was WTBS the superstation first that lit the flame and started the Wrasslin blaze. It seemed like every show Natche would come out stylin’ and profilin’, with some blonde honey and tell everybody he was and still is the man. Then later that evening it would be Channel 11 out of Dallas and the Sportatorium, to see who the weekly challenger for the Von Erich’s would be and I be damned If the Nature Boy would be stylin’ and proflin’ in Texas also. Telling the Von Erich’s that he was the man and not them. I remember getting goose bumps when I first saw Bobby Hennan walk out on WWF TV with the real championship belt and him talking about the real champion, not Mr. Yellow and red, 3 moves Hogan. I was like finally the real man is coming to the WWF. I didn’t care he was heel; it was Rick Flair it was a real champion. I know that the theme music is from 2001 a space odyssey, but come on, to a man, woman or child when you here that music start up, you don’t think of the movie. What do you do? You mouth the words “Whether you like it or not, learn to love it” “Whoooooooo!!!!!!!!!”. Thanks Rick you are the man.
