I am really excited about the idea of a Hulk movie that doesn’t have all of the psychological angst of the movie that was released a few years back. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed that movie. I thought the Hulk looked great, but it was waaaaaaay too serious. I appreciate the fact that movie makers are wanting to take these comic book movies seriously, but the truth is that, ultimately, these are comic books. For all of the morality tales, social issues, and character studies to be explored, these are all supposed to be fun for an audience. I honestly didn’t start having a lot of fun with the first Hulk movie until he began to smash up the military base and escaped to fight tanks helicopters and jets. Then, when all of that was over, I was scratching my head trying to figure out why they put his dad in this movie at all. The climax was the Hulk’s fight with the military, not with his dad. And who REALLY understood what was going on anyway?
Anywho, what we’ve been promised out of this movie is a slobber knocker of a Hulk movie. He’s fighting the Abomination for crying out loud! With acotrs like Ed Norton, Liv Tyler, and Tim Roth all invovled, we should be in for an awesome ride. Only time will tell.
